Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary – “You Can Make Me Clean”

Yesterday we celebrated the Feast of the Sacred of Heart of Jesus and today we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. These two feast days remind us how the heart of Jesus (as the 2nd person of the Trinity) and Mary were in-sync from the moment of Mary’s conception when she was conceived Full of Grace. If we are to get to Heaven, our soul needs to be completely pure at our particular judgment right upon our death (when we all will need to face Jesus our judge). For all of us, we are very far from being completely pure. That’s why today’s Feast day of our Lady and Mother can remind us to ask her help to keep our heart pure, free from any attachment to sin, as she was. Let us tell her many times during the day, as the leper in the Gospel implored Jesus, ‘You can make me clean” and also to “Keep my heart in sync with you and your Son Jesus all the days of my life”.
