Feast of the Transfiguration – “Lord, How I Long To See Your Face!”

Today August 6 is the feast day of the Transfiguration when our Lord Jesus Christ took 3 of his Apostles Peter, James, and John to the holy mountain Mt Tabor where these Apostles saw a glimpse of the fullness of Christ’s Glory, as he would appear in Heaven, whiter than any fuller could bleach any material, talking with Moses and Elijah about his impending Passion and Death on the Cross. As we journey on our way to Heaven, we can contemplate this scene and ask our Lord “How I long to see Your face!” Let us pray to have a hunger, daily, to get to Heaven. This is the only thing that matters in our life. We have to struggle to grow in Love with Jesus, God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, our Lady, and each person on earth, so that we can light up a fire in the belly of our family, friends, and colleagues. During my prayer in the afternoon today, I meditated on this feast using the book “In Conversation With God”, which really inspired me to keep my eyes on the prize – Heaven. I invite you to also meditate on it, which you can find at this link – https://omny.fm/shows/in-conversation-with-god/the-transfiguration-august-6?in_playlist=podcast.

  1. Beautiful!
Indeed we will keep our eyes on the ball praying to God for His favor in taking us to Heaven when our day comes.
    Thanks George.
